 Signs of life from Frankfurt

Marga lives for some time with her relatives Nathan and Bertel Stern
in Frankfurt. Together with her girl friend Friedel Nussbaum she
attends a Jewish school. The first part of December 1941, when most
of the Jews who still live in Burghaun receive news of the impending deportation, she comes back to Burghaun. Naturally she now wants to be with her folks. However, the names of Marga’s family and those of an other family are not yet listed in the deportation papers. For now they may stay in Burghaun, although the other Jewish families are beeing carried off on December 7,1941 to the concentration camp
Riga in far away Russia.
Some time later Marga is back in Frankfurt, most likely to get back to school. Marga’s signature from February 14, 1942 indicates her living in Frankfurt. But most probably she didn’t live in Frankfurt for too
long since on July 1,1942 all the Jewish schools had to close down permanently.
