Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wertheim,

It was just the other day that I recived your letter of Nov. 28 th. You see, I left my organisation in Nov. due to a slight illness and my mail had to follow me. Right now

I am waiting for a ship to take me home.

I am afraid I cannot give you Alfred’s adress now for military reasons. I hope to be

able to do so as soon as I arrive in the States. In the meanwhile I have written him of

the good news and I hope the mail will get through to him. In my letter I gave him your adress and directed him to write you.

When I left him he was living with really wonderful peoples and had been accepted in their home as one of the family. He appeared to be in good health and is quite a handsome boy.

Of course like everyone else in Holland he is suffering from malnutrition and the

shortage of clothes. So I would suggest that you try to send him food, vitamin pills and clothing as soon as I get his adress to you.
