My dear loved ones!
We haven’t heard from you for quite some time, but we hope, God willing, that you
are all well. Thank heavens, as far as health is concerned we are doing just fine.
Let’s hope that you received our mail in the meantime. Perhaps you might have
received a telegram concerning emigration to Ecuador, prior to receiving this
postcard. We hope that you could find out all the details, and arrange for first
steps to be taken. You know for sure, of course, how very much our dear parents
are longing for all of you; I just can’t describe it to you!
As I found out in Fulda, the earnest money for a whole family - for Joseph, his
family, and parents - amounts to only $ 460.oo; so please do all that’s in your
power. Word has it, that it is supposed to be better to appear in person in New
York. If that’s really necessary, couldn’t Tony take care of it, since for her it’s not
that far. Anyway, I hope that you, dear Erna, and you, dear Hermann, will do your
utmost to help. I’ll be writing to Bochum, that they are supposed to contact Paul
as far as this matter is concerned. I hope that we will receive detailed information
from you pretty soon.
Take heartfelt greetings and kisses from all your loved ones, especially from me,
Lilly, who loves you very much.
