Hiding out in southern Holland
Anyhow, after I had worked there for a few days, this director de Hertog
established a connection with the Dutch underground organization. As a
result of that I stayed with an ”Aryan” lady for one or two nights.
She already had a forged passport for me. Now I was Willi Becker. She
accompanied me by train to the southern part of Holland (province of
Limburg, the author) to a place close to Brunssum. There were two coal
mines: The Prince Hendrick mine, and the Queen Emma mine. They put me
up with the brother of the lady. He was a coal miner and lived in a housing
subdivision for miners. There I stayed just temporarily until they found a
permanent place for me.
