The course of events during ”Crystal Night” not only represent a first, unprecedented climax of the persecution, but also caused a far-reaching destruction of the Jewish area
of life. In the morning of Thursday, November 10, 1938 all the Synagogues within the county of Huenfeld were burned down, only some outside walls remained standing; with the exception of Eiterfeld, where thugs had wrecked the sanctuary of
the Synagogue. The Jewish men were taken into custody at the Huenfeld city hall, and later on they were hauled off to the Buchenwald KZ. The property belonging to the Synagogue was taken over as ”expropriated property” by the city of Huenfeld, in order to be sold at a later time
to a potential buyer. This arbitrary and fraudulent business practice  is being demonstrated in an incredible way by the here presented documents.
